On December 26, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) issued a notice  that an invasive species known as the elongate hemlock scale was found on evergreen wreaths, boughs, and other evergreen ornaments. As previously noted, the Streets Division will not collect wreaths, evergreen rope, garlands, boughs, and similar evergreen ornaments when crews pick up Christmas trees. Speeding Update – New Calming Device

Although we had collected only a very few signatures, I am happy to announce that the City of Madison has gone ahead and installed a new traffic calming device – in this case a concrete speed bump – on Redan Drive, south of Ancient Oak Lane due to the proximity to Olson Elementary. We consider this only a first step in combating speeding in our neighborhood and thank the City of Madison for being supportive in our endeavor.
